About the role
The State Solicitor’s Office (the Office) is seeking an experienced and capable Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Manager to lead the Office’s readiness for, and implementation of, the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024, commencing on 1 July 2026.
This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Readiness Implementation Project and ensuring the Office meets its legislative compliance obligations. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the PRIS Manager provides strategic and operational advice, leads implementation activities across the Office, and works closely with senior leaders, policy owners and operational areas to embed privacy and responsible information sharing into business practices.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Leadership capability including the ability to influence decision‑making through strong technical knowledge, judgement and advice.
- Proven experience in governance and compliance, including policy development and a sound understanding of privacy and responsible information sharing obligations within a government environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating organisation‑wide implementation activities, translating legislative requirements into practical, sustainable business processes.
- Strong project management capability, including experience in project planning, risk management, governance oversight, reporting and delivery of outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Well‑developed ability to work collaboratively, harness the contribution of others and build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience providing clear, strategic and operational advice to senior leaders on legislative impacts and implementation considerations.
- A proactive, improvement‑focused approach, with the ability to monitor emerging trends in privacy and information governance and provide timely recommendations to support informed decision‑making.
