The Role

Lesmurdie SHS is looking for an individual who can collaborate with the Principal, Executive and Leadership teams to provide the best educational outcomes for our students and support the development of key areas of priority within the school’s business plan.

The successful applicant will also work in collaboration with key stakeholders and our community to develop and maintain a creative and innovative learning environment that is safe, inclusive, and addresses the key needs of our students socially, mentally and emotionally as well as their academics.

Ideally, applicants should be highly motivated, be reflective with a growth mindset, and will have previous successful leadership experience within their current role. We are looking for applicants who possess excellent organisation skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail and work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment. Other ideal qualities would include a sense of humour, the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, exhibit initiative, active listening and communication skills as well as actively supporting a strong culture of collegiality, integrity and high expectations.

As a strategic leader at the school, you will be responsible for a range of portfolios that may include “Student Services” in leading a team with a focus on student wellbeing including attendance, positive behaviour and data driven strategies to assist students socially and academically. Or an operational and influential staff leadership role in “School Improvement and Innovation” depending on your strengths and skillset, all experiences in these areas will be seen as desirable.
