The role
As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will partner with business areas across the Department to deliver strategic HR advice and solutions that build workforce capability and support organisational objectives. You will provide expert consultancy across a broad range of HR functions, supporting managers to navigate employee relations matters, strengthen leadership capability, and lead effective change and workforce initiatives.
You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative HR strategies across workforce planning, attraction and retention, and employee development, while also supporting key HR projects, policies and programs aligned to business needs.
Building strong, trusted relationships will be central to your success. You will engage with stakeholders at all levels, influence decision-making, and champion people-focused outcomes that enhance organisational culture and performance.
This role is ideal for a proactive and solutions-focused HR professional who thrives in a consultancy environment, enjoys working through complexity, and is passionate about delivering meaningful people outcomes.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
Eligibility
To be eligible for fixed term employment you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia or have a valid visa to live and work in Australia for the duration of the fixed term employment at the time of application.
To work for DMPE, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, DMPE will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks.

- Experience in a broad range of HR functions, developing and implementing innovative human resource strategies, policies, practices and systems within a multi-disciplinary services organisation.
- Experience in providing high level consultancy in organisational design, workforce planning, attraction and retention, and employee relations matters, based on contemporary human resource management practices, trends, and legislation including the preparation of supporting documentation and written advice.
