Position Profile:
An opportunity for an experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist
to step into leadership within a department with momentum, depth
and a clear strategic agenda.
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will coordinate
clinical psychology services at Bentley Hospital, with the role
spanning clinical leadership, operational management, supervision,
education, and service development. You will:
- Coordinate clinical psychology services and lead a team of
senior clinicians, registrars and trainees
- Manage human, physical and financial resources at site
level in liaison with the Head of Department
- Provide specialist clinical and neuropsychological
assessment and intervention for patients with complex
presentations
- Supervise registrars working toward endorsement, and
contribute to policy, research and quality improvement
- Help shape the future direction of psychology services
within RPBG
A meaningful clinical caseload remains part of the role.
About our Department:
We are a department with momentum and strategic vision. Recent
and current work includes psychology-led specialist clinics in
areas such as Functional Neurological Disorder; a workforce
wellbeing program for JMOs; AI scribe and documentation quality
improvement work; and active contribution to allied health
workforce policy and reform at a HSP level.
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of building
this, not just maintaining it.
What sets this role apart
- Direct, individualised mentorship from the Head of
Department. You will have regular, invested
mentoring from a HOD who treats senior leadership development
as a core part of the role, not an aspiration.
- Access to leadership
development. RPBG actively supports clinicians
moving into senior leadership roles to access formal training
and structured development opportunities.
- A peer Coordinator structure. You
will join a leadership team with experienced peer Coordinators,
that offers genuine thinking partners, shared decision-making,
and protected capacity for development work alongside
operational delivery.
- A genuinely strategic role. Senior
staff at RPBG are involved in service redesign, advanced scope
work, workforce policy, and shaping the future of clinical
psychology in tertiary care. Your strategic thinking will be
put to work, not parked.
