About the role
Become a valued member of a team that gives back to the community through impactful projects, creating real change and new opportunities for prisoners as they prepare to re-enter the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the team and key stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Facilities Maintenance: Support construction and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality service delivery within deadlines.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to prisoners, fostering skill development and meaningful rehabilitation.
- Compliance & Reporting: Uphold safety standards, manage records, and prepare insightful reports that drive workshop success.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
Applicants must possess a Construction Trade Certificate at a minimum Certificate III level and/or Certificate III in Horticulture (and/or equivalent with relevant specialty area).
Applicants must possess a current valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation (or equivalent eg Senior First Aid) received from an accredited training provider with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining.
Applicants must possess a current valid manual class “C” motor vehicle driving licence.

Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered at Greenough Regional Prison during this period.
