An exciting opportunity exists to shape the Corporate Services function of the newly formed Department. We are looking for passionate and dynamic individuals to position Corporate Services as a strategic enabler and a driver of departmental priorities including organisational performance, capability, culture and governance.

The role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial modelling, analysis, and strategic advice to support decision-making across the Department. Working within the Finance and Procurement Directorate, you will develop and maintain complex financial models and cost allocation frameworks to inform the review of tariffs, fees and charges, and support cost recovery activities.
You will contribute to both internal and external budget processes, including the preparation of State Budget submissions, forecasts, and key financial reporting outputs. Through robust analysis, such as cost-benefit modelling, scenario analysis, and economic impact assessments, you will provide insights that shape business priorities and policy direction.
This role requires strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, as you will work closely with business areas across the Department and provide advice to senior leaders on financial performance, compliance, and funding strategies. You will also drive continuous improvement in financial processes, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with Government and Treasury requirements.
As a specialist in your field, you will demonstrate leadership through your expertise, supporting capability development and contributing to a culture of innovation, adaptability, and high performance.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applicants with a valid visa to work and live in Australia for a specific duration may be assessed and considered suitable for similar fixed term vacancies that arise.
To work for DMPE, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, DMPE will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks.

A detailed resume outlining your key achievements, work history, education and professional development and covering letter of no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following role specific requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling including cost allocation models, cost benefit analysis and scenario modelling methodologies including Advanced Excel modelling skills. Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both interpersonal and written, including effectively engaging and conveying information to diverse audiences.
