What is our Staff Development Nurse role?
Under the
direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), Staff
Development Nurse (SDN) practises in keeping with the Australian
Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing
Practice Decision Flowchart. This role conducts ongoing assessment
of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff in designated
ward/unit, as well as planning and implementation of education and
training programs and participation in the planning and
implementation of hospital wide Staff Development programs. In
addition, SDN provides support for new staff, including
orientation, coaching and preceptorship, and provides clinical
knowledge and expertise within the clinical areas. This role
upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation
and nursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork &
Integrity.

Eligibility to

of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses
