About Us
The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) is the WA Government’s key agency for small business support. We provide practical information, referrals, business advice and programs that help small businesses start, grow and succeed. We also contribute to policy, research and advocacy to strengthen the small business sector.
Our values — enterprise, collaboration and integrity — guide how we work.
About the Role
The WA public sector is embarking on a major recruitment reform, and we’re looking for someone who can help make it real. At the Small Business Development Corporation, you’ll help shape simpler, smarter and more consistent recruitment processes that genuinely improve the experience for managers and employees.
You’ll also play a key role in the implementation of a new HR payroll system — from procurement through to rollout.
You’ll join a small, collaborative HR team working on a transformation program. Your work will include developing new tools and templates, improving workflows, supporting user testing, and helping leaders and teams build capability and confidence in new ways of working.
About You
You apply evidence, data and professional judgement to understand issues and design practical, people‑centred solutions. You foster a learning culture by sharing knowledge, supporting capability uplift and helping others transition to new processes and technologies.
If you bring a business improvement mindset and the ability to think strategically and creatively about optimising systems and workforce needs, we want to hear from you.
This position is available for immediate filling for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
Applicants assessed as suitable (but not recommended for appointment) during this selection process may be appointed to other similar fixed term or permanent (full-time or part-time) vacancies that may occur throughout the Corporation over the coming 12 months.
You can find further information on what the key responsibilities are the attached Job Description Form (JDF).
