per fortnight.

drive meaningful change in a complex, high‑risk healthcare
environment?
CAHS is seeking a Manager, Work Health and
Safety to provide strategic and operational leadership in
building safe, healthy and psychologically supportive workplaces
for our workforce—so they can deliver the best possible care to
children and families across Western Australia.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Work Health Safety and Wellbeing
you will provide expert leadership across the full spectrum of work
health and safety, including physical and psychosocial as well as
regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with executive leaders, clinicians and
operational teams to embed effective safety systems, strengthen
risk management maturity and foster a positive and sustainable
safety culture across CAHS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a multidisciplinary WHS team to
deliver enterprise‑wide safety outcomes
- Providing authoritative advice on WA WHS legislation, Codes
of Practice and health sector obligations, including
psychosocial hazards
- Establishing and strengthening WHS governance, assurance,
reporting and performance monitoring frameworks
- Driving continuous improvement through incident management,
investigations and systemic risk controls
- Partnering with leaders to embed safety and wellbeing into
everyday clinical and operational decision‑making
- Contributing to organisational strategies that support
workforce wellbeing, psychological safety and safe patient
care
About You
You are a collaborative and credible WHS leader with the
confidence to influence at senior levels and the capability to
operate effectively in a complex public healthcare system.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a
related discipline, with substantial senior‑level
experience
- Demonstrated success leading WHS functions within complex,
high‑risk organisations (healthcare desirable)
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, psychosocial risk
management and safety governance
- Proven ability to translate regulatory and strategic
requirements into practical, sustainable operational
outcomes
- Highly developed communication, coaching and stakeholder
engagement skills
- A commitment to equity, wellbeing and public value
consistent with CAHS values
