About the Role

Perth Children’s Hospital & Neonatology (PCHN) is seeking an experienced Supervisor Sonographer to join our Medical Imaging Department and lead our ultrasound service.

  • Supporting a high-performing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and efficient diagnostic imaging services.
  • Working collaboratively with radiologists, tutor sonographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure imaging is appropriate, comprehensive, and supports clinical decision-making.

This role offers a fresh opportunity to shape and benchmark services against national and international best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing workflows, waitlists, and service delivery to ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Providing clinical expertise and performing specialised paediatric ultrasound procedures.
  • Providing leadership and supervision to your team of sonographers, supporting staff performance, professional development and rostering.
  • Working alongside Tutor Sonographers (who lead the training program) and contributing to the operational leadership of trainee sonographers.
  • Contributing to research, innovation, and continuous quality improvement including service improvement initiatives, workflows, and equipment optimisation and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Maintaining accurate examination records in accordance with statutory and departmental requirements.
