We are looking for dedicated
Nurse Practitioners to bring their expertise to the
Advanced Lung Disease Unit (ALDU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital
(FSH).
The Advanced Lung Disease Unit
(ALDU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a specialised service
that manages severe and complex lung conditions, including lung
transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung
disease providing comprehensive assessment, optimisation, and
long-term management for patients with severe respiratory
decline.
We are offering 2 permanent
part-time opportunities, each at 0.8 FTE (60.8 hours per
fortnight). Each role has a different focus for the 2 main arms of
the ALDU Program at FSH:
WA Lung Transplant
Service
As a Nurse Practitioner within the WA Lung
Transplant Service, you will play a pivotal role in the care of
patients with end-stage lung disease throughout their transplant
journey. This includes leading advanced clinical assessments,
coordinating complex pre-transplant work-ups, managing acute and
chronic post-transplant issues, and providing expert education on
immunosuppression, infection prevention, and long-term
self-management. You will work autonomously while collaborating
closely with the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to
high-level clinical decision-making and service development.
Pulmonary Hypertension
Service
In the Pulmonary Hypertension Service, the
Nurse Practitioner functions as a key clinical leader in the
assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of patients with
suspected or confirmed pulmonary hypertension. You will undertake
advanced diagnostic evaluation, initiate and titrate complex
therapies, monitor treatment response, and provide continuity of
care for a cohort requiring long-term, highly individualised
management. Working within a multidisciplinary framework, you will
support patients to optimise their functional capacity and quality
of life while shaping best-practice models of care for this rare
and challenging condition.
Fiona Stanley
Hospital is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a
range of health services including the State Rehabilitation
Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health
unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State
Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as
heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
