The Opportunity
A talent pool to source finance professionals with capability in procurement systems, financial controls, and budget management for ongoing and future opportunities. We are building a talent pool to support future opportunities across a range of levels within our Finance and Procurement Services directorate. Suitable applicants may be considered for future fixed-term and permanent opportunities as they arise.
The positions include:
Level 4 – Budget Support Officer:
The Budget Support Officer provides analytical and administrative support to budgeting activities, helping maintain budgets, prepare reports and forecasts, and support the annual and internal budget processes in collaboration with stakeholders across the business. The role assists with the allocation, monitoring and reporting of recurrent and capital budgets, including monthly performance reporting and basic variance analysis. It also involves maintaining and reconciling financial systems and data, contributing to process improvements, and preparing costings, submissions and briefing material to support budget and resourcing decisions.
About you
- Knowledge in a finance, budgeting or reporting environment, with sound analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Working knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting concepts (and an ability to learn relevant policies and standards).
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing tasks.
- Team-focused approach and willingness to contribute to shared outcomes.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain a current National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
