About Our Team:

The Infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to provide operational, strategic and people leadership across the designated ICAMHS area network. Working closely with the Head of Service, Service Co‑Director and Medical Co‑Director, this role ensures the delivery of high‑quality, safe and integrated infant, child and adolescent mental health services. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Operational Management & Service Quality and lead the effective day‑to‑day management of the area network, driving continuous quality improvement, change management and compliance with best‑practice standards, safety frameworks and clinical governance requirements.
  • Leadership, Workforce & Performance and provide strong leadership and line management to ICAMHS staff, overseeing recruitment, performance development, professional growth, conflict resolution and delivery against agreed performance indicators.
  • Strategic & Service Planning and contribute to strategic, business and operational planning across ICAMHS, supporting the development, integration and evaluation of services aligned to organisational priorities and community needs.
  • Governance, Resources & Financial Management and manage financial, physical and human resources within the area network, including budget oversight, business case development, reporting obligations and responses to ministerial, parliamentary and regulatory inquiries.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & System Integration and build and maintain strong relationships with internal leaders, community agencies and external stakeholders to enhance system integration, improve continuity of care and strengthen mental health outcomes for infants, children and adolescents.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in mental health service delivery and leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing people, budgets and operational resources.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Sound knowledge of quality improvement, clinical and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, safety obligations and inclusive practice.
  • Relevant health‑related tertiary qualification. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of national safety, quality and mental health standards and WA mental health legislation. (Desirable)
