Senior Contract Performance Officer

With a rich history dating back to 1926 and exciting future ahead, Main Roads Western Australia is the WA State Government agency responsible for managing the State's road network safely, connecting people and places. About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to oversee contractor performance across a range of programs and works. These may include road pavement markings, delivery of the annual longitudinal line marking program, and Minor Improvement Works (MIW). The role is responsible for planning and scheduling activities, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to:

  • Develop, maintain, and implement the Annual Delivery Plan for longitudinal line marking, including prioritisation, scheduling, and coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Manage financial performance for assigned contracts and programs, including contractor claims assessment, forecasting, accruals, and budget tracking.
  • Monitor contractor performance across road pavement marking and MIW activities to ensure conformance with contract requirements, relevant specifications, and quality standards.
  • Provide specialist technical advice on materials, methods, and workmanship for road marking works, including suitability assessments and the identification of defects and corrective actions.
  • Apply knowledge of longitudinal line marking and barrier line assessment processes in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., AS 1742) and organisational requirements.

About You

You will bring substantial experience in road construction and maintenance practices, with demonstrated capability in the delivery of road marking  Contracts.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven contract management capability, including performance monitoring, compliance oversight, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to interpret, assess, and report on specialist test results and technical documentation, including contract specifications, drawings, and traffic management plans.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and engage effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external parties.
  • Strong people skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across teams and levels of management.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to work objectively and professionally in conflict or high-pressure situations.
