The Role

The Education Assistant – Lead plays a pivotal role in leading, mentoring, coaching, and modelling evidence-based inclusive practices for Education Assistants and school staff. As a valued leader within the Support and Engagement Team, the successful applicant should work collaboratively with all stakeholders to build and sustain effective, team-based relationships grounded in respectful, two-way, solutions-focused communication.

The role ideally requires a highly professional and organised individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, aligned with Aubin Grove’s Fish Charter. These attributes will be highly regarded when engaging with staff, students, and the broader school community.

The Education Assistant – Lead contributes to the design, implementation, and review of documented plans, providing practical strategies and support to teachers and Education Assistants. This support aims to promote positive student behaviour, enhance engagement and wellbeing, and improve educational outcomes for students with complex support needs.

It is highly desirable that the sucessful applicant has experience working with students across a diverse range of learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), non-speaking presentations, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
