Join a committed and collegiate Nursing team delivering high‑quality vocational education that prepares students for safe, ethical and culturally responsive nursing practice within Western Australia’s health system. North Metropolitan TAFE is seeking motivated, student‑centred Nursing Lecturers to deliver Certificate and Diploma‑level nursing qualifications across a range of contemporary learning environments, including simulation‑based clinical settings, face‑to‑face classrooms and supported online delivery.
As a Lecturer – Nursing, you will deliver engaging, industry‑aligned training that supports student competence, confidence and workforce readiness. The role involves teaching and assessing using a strong simulation‑based learning model, supported by contemporary clinical and digital resources that reflect current practice. You will contribute to assessment and compliance requirements within the VET framework, support diverse adult learners, and participate in course review, RPL mapping and continuous improvement activities.

The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment you must hold qualifications in AHPRA registration as a Division 1 General Nurse with no conditions.
There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Registration Standards 2025 (2025 Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however North Metro TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.
