Maddington Primary School and Maddington Education Support Centre (shared site), are seeking a reliable and motivated Gardener – Handyperson to join our team. The schools cater for approximately 310 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, in mainstream and education support settings. The successful applicant will support the maintenance and presentation of grounds and facilities across the school.

The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining school grounds in a clean, safe and well-presented condition. This includes the care of gardens, lawns and landscaped areas, as well as turf management, pruning, planting and reticulation maintenance. You will also carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks to support the upkeep of school facilities.
The successful applicant will be expected to work independently and use initiative to manage daily tasks, respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively. A strong understanding of safe work practices is essential, including the appropriate use, handling and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals in line with Department of Education policies and guidelines.
You will work collaboratively with school leadership to support the ongoing development and improvement of the school grounds, including contributing to landscaping projects and maintaining a high standard of presentation across the site.
We are seeking an applicant with well-developed interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively, follow instructions, and contribute positively to a team environment. Experience in operating gardening equipment and maintaining reticulation systems is highly desirable.
