This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

Comet Bay College is seeking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable leader to inspire our staff and students in Vocational Education and Training. There is an associated responsibility to establish and manage administrative and operational systems for enrolment and reporting of student Vocational education and training (VET) achievement. Knowledge and experience of utilising Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) tracker to apply risk mitigation strategies across VET and General subjects for WACE achievement is desirable.

The Role

The successful applicant will cover the management of students enrolled in Work Place Learning (WPL) programs and students engaged in VET programs delivered as fee for service (FFS) or auspice courses with external and internal RTO partners. They will also have strategic oversight for whole school careers education including line management responsibility for the Career Practitioner, teaching staff involved in our STEP program as well as the WPL and VET administration team.

Key focus areas of the role of Dean of Vocational Education include, but are not limited to:

  • Curriculum: system and school data analysis to inform planning, quality assurance of existing curriculum offerings within our senior school  Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory (STEP) education program. Ongoing reflection and improvement of the College’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) ensuring effective moderation practices, compliance with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) requirements and tracking College Business Plan achievement targets.
  • Instruction: classroom observation and feedback, explicit teaching in Vocational Education, involvement in and support for the College instructional intelligence program and collaborative coaching. The role may also include a 0.2 teaching component.
