Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is a school of opportunity for students. The school offers Department of Education endorsed Specialist Programs in Agriculture and Music, Gifted & Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Program and a range of Kelmscott Extension Programs (KEP) in Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities & Social Sciences. We are only one of two schools to provide Gifted & Talented online to rural areas.

The Role

Kelmscott SHS is seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Aboriginal Student Support Officer to lead an Aboriginal Boys Enrichment Program. This role is ideal for someone who values mentoring, building strong relationships, and creating opportunities for young Aboriginal men to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As the successful applicant, you will coordinate and deliver a program that should foster engagement, leadership, and wellbeing for Aboriginal boys. You should work closely with students, families, school staff, and community organisations to create a supportive environment that promotes cultural identity and success.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and running activities that build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
  • Supporting students with attendance, engagement, and pathways planning.
  • Building strong connections between school, families, and community agencies.
  • Assisting with case conferences and implementing strategies to support individual needs.
