About
Our Team:
The Child and Adolescent
Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support,
advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18
years who are experiencing mental health challenges.
Our Eating Disorders
Services (EDS) provide assessment, consultation and treatment
services for young people who present with symptoms of an eating
disorder, and their families. We provide inpatient in reach, and
outpatient intervention through various models of care including
family-based therapy and parent focused education and support. EDS
offers outpatient day programs, and consultation liaison with CAMHS
clinics across the state. Our robust research program is a
key component to continuous improvement of our services, together
with consumer engagement, and parent focused education and
support.
Our diverse,
multi-disciplinary team includes psychology, dietetics, social
work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, peer work,
education, medical and psychiatry teams, and liaises with private
and public sector youth and adult health providers. Our state-wide
service includes support for regionally based patients through
provision of telehealth, and our partnership with regional CAMHS
and WA Country Health Service (WACHS) clinics.
About
the Role:
As the Coordinator
Eating Disorders Program, you will coordinate the
activities of the clinical services within the Eating Disorders
Group Program and facilitate cohesive multidisciplinary team
relationships for optimal service delivery. You will deliver and
supervise advanced level mental health group therapies, including
coordination of outpatient group therapy streams and/or day program
coordination. In addition, you will provide advanced level
assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions and offer
state-wide support and clinical guidance to healthcare workers on
therapeutic issues related to eating disorders in children and
adolescents. You may also contribute to other key service projects,
including model of care development and strategic planning for
implementation and delivery.
Your will support the
Service Manager, Eating Disorders Service in strategic and
operational workforce planning, including recruitment, retention,
training and employee engagement and wellbeing.
What you will
bring:
- Exceptional
communication and consultation skills and ability to engage
internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced
clinical skills and knowledge of eating disorders and
associated issues
- Effective leadership
skills and ability to manage a small team and supervise
individual staff
Tertiary qualification
in any one of the following is required:
- Tertiary
qualification in Psychology; eligible for full registration by
the Psychology Board of Australia with clinical
endorsement
- Eligible for
registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing
and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Tertiary
qualification in Occupational Therapy; eligible for
registration by the Occupational Therapy Board of
Australia
- Tertiary
qualification in Social Work; eligible for full membership of
the Australian Association of Social Workers or the Society of
Professional Social Workers.
