We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Durham Road School is the largest Education Support School in Western Australia, catering for approximately 230 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our educational focus is on delivering high quality teaching and learning experiences using evidence based best practice techniques. Our geographical intake area is between the four corners of Bullsbrook, Ellenbrook, Chidlow and Maylands.
Our class sizes are small, with specialist teachers and education assistants across all phases of schooling. We provide a targeted, differentiated curriculum based on the Western Australian Curriculum including Abilities Based Learning, Western Australia (ABLEWA), combined with a rich social environment designed to meet the individual learning needs of each child. Learning goals are collaboratively established for each student based on individual needs and parent priorities, at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally display the ability to develop and deliver a scaffolded, differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual learning needs of students. They should be skilled in using both standardised and non-standardised assessment tools and will ideally apply a range of assessment and reporting methods, both formative and summative, to effectively measure and communicate student achievement in relation to learning outcomes.
Suitable applicants will ideally be capable of planning purposeful, relevant, and authentic learning experiences that respond to a variety of learning profiles. A commitment to collaboration is highly desirable, as teaching teams work within high-functioning Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and engage in whole-school planning processes.
We are seeking a broad range of classroom teachers with varying year and subject specialties, including Early Childhood Teachers, Primary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, Art Specialists, Music Specialists, and Teachers interested in Teaching Science across phases of the school.
Suitable applicants will ideally display leadership capability, particularly in supporting and developing teams, and display strong interpersonal communication skills. An understanding of the school’s strategic direction, along with a teaching philosophy that aligns with the school’s values and priorities, will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will join a professional and supportive team and should uphold the school’s high standards of practice, engage in ongoing learning, and contribute meaningfully to whole-school improvement efforts.
Our school maintains a strong, cohesive culture of reflection, innovation, and continuous improvement. Whole-school priorities and evidence-based approaches are implemented consistently across all classrooms. All staff should meaningfully contribute actively to this culture and uphold a shared vision for inclusive and responsive education.
The school is committed to providing comprehensive support for all staff, including graduates, early career teachers, and experienced educators new to education support, through structured professional development, mentoring, and coaching.
