We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Design and Technology for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during Term 3, 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Bob Hawke College in Subiaco opened in February 2020 to more than 250 Year 7 students and is the first high density public secondary college in Western Australia.

We understand the importance of looking after the wellbeing of the whole student. Every student at our College will be well known and valued. Our pastoral care approach has been specifically designed to support young adults. Specialist staff provide students with individual support as well as health and wellbeing programs. Bob Hawke College offers a diverse curriculum of traditional and contemporary courses alongside a strong set of College values which will provide the basis for students to become internationally-minded and able to contribute to global endeavours. A full suite of technologies is offered, including Design Technologies (Wood, Metal, Engineering and Design), Food and Textiles Studies, together with a significant emphasis on the Digital Technologies, including Coding and Robotics. The Role

We are looking to recruit teachers from all Design and Technology contexts. It would be advantageous to have the ability to deliver nationally recognised qualifications in Hospitality and Engineering; however, this is not essential. Ideally, suitable applicants should have the capacity to teach from Year 7 through to Year 12, including Engineering, Design, Materials Design and Technology, and Food Science and Technology.

As members of our team, suitable applicants will ideally be a conscientious, flexible, and innovative teachers who are committed to the development of the whole student. Suitable Teachers would be actively involved within both the school and the wider community, highly reflective in your teaching practice, and committed to evidence-based decision-making and differentiation.

Applicants should ideally be motivated and able to show their ability to teach secondary Design and Technology courses aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. As Design and Technology teachers, suitable applicants are expected to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of all students and maintain high expectations that all students can reach their potential.

Suitable applicants should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, which can be used to contribute to and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities. They build positive relationships with students and are passionate about supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
