Position Profile: The Clinical Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, providing clinical and professional expertise to support the delivery of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients accessing Ophthalmology specialty outpatient services. This position facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care, and practices within the scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board’s Nurses Practice Decision Flowchart.

About the Department/ Service: ​The Ophthalmology Department at PCH provides acute and subacute management of elective and emergency ophthalmological conditions.  

PCH provides ophthalmology services for presentations for conditions requiring urgent or planned tertiary level ophthalmological intervention, PCH Ophthalmology is the sole Paediatric public ophthalmology service in Western Australia.

This role will be working within the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department at Perth Children’s Hospital in a multidisciplinary environment alongside Clinicians, Orthoptists, clinic nurses and clerical support staff to offer specialist services for children and adolescents.
