About the role
The Fines Enforcement Registry (FER) is the primary agency responsible for enforcing and collecting unpaid infringements and court-imposed fines. The FER manages payment arrangements, issues driver’s licence and vehicle licence suspensions, effects property seizure and vehicle immobilisation activities in conjunction with the Sheriff of Western Australia and refers debtors for community work to clear outstanding debt in certain circumstances.
The Registrar of the FER is an officer of the Magistrates Court who also has statutory functions as provided for under the Fines, Penalties and Infringement Notices Enforcement Act 1994 (WA). The Registrar is also responsible for providing strategic leadership and policy development to the FER whilst providing the necessary enforcements services in support of the court.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Subsequent Vacancies
Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies in the Department of Justice for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with Part 5 (General Appointment) of the Commissioner's Instructions No. 2: Filling a Public Sector Vacancy and Commissioner’s Instructions and No. 39: Interim Arrangements to Fill Public Sector Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered during this period.
