12-month appointment pool

We are establishing an appointment pool for vacancies that arise up to 12 months from the first appointment.

Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, casual, permanent or fixed-term basis with possible further term and and/or permanency.

Suitable candidates will be placed in the appointment pool from which opportunities may be offered as vacancies arise. Candidates may also be considered for similar positions within South Metropolitan TAFE as they arise during the life of the pool. If the appointment pool is exhausted prior to the pool expiry date, we reserve the right to supplement the pool through further advertising.

About the role
The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD). 

In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.

To be successful in this role you must hold one of the following credentials: 

TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor,

  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training,
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training,
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development,
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development, or
  • A higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training.

The successful applicant will also have at least 5 years of vocational and lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning. 

Applicants must possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).
