About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) 12 month, fixed-term and full-time position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.
As a project manager in Work Health and Safety, you will lead the delivery of complex projects that support departmental and government objectives, ensuring all activities align with WHS legislation, policies, and risk management practices. You will oversee project and contract management processes, monitor compliance, and address any non-compliance issues to maintain safe and effective outcomes.
You will provide clear advice and reporting to stakeholders, apply consistent project management frameworks, and support team capability development. The role also involves building strong relationships, promoting collaboration, and fostering a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Expertise in managing safety, health and wellbeing programs, compliance and risk
- A commitment to continuous improvement and building strong, trust-based stakeholder relationships
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, frameworks, and performance measures
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, engage stakeholders, and influence senior leaders while supporting cross-agency collaboration

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
