In this pivotal role, you will coordinate the delivery of
exceptional patient care, providing clinical supervision to
Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and students. You will engage

The ideal candidate with possess
the following:
- Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse by the
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated advanced nursing practice and skills in the
Emergency Department.
- Exceptional planning, coordination and decision-making
skills related to emergency care.
- Strong background in quality improvement activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership qualities as a team member and
mentor.
- Knowledge of legislative obligations relating to Equal
Opportunity and Work Health and Safety.
- An interest in furthering your education, including
progression towards a postgraduate qualification in Emergency
or Critical Care Nursing.
Key responsibilities of this role
include:
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate the delivery of patient care
within the Emergency Department.
- Maintain a safe nursing practice and ensure a secure
working environment.
- Act as a clinical resource person in the Emergency
Department while supervising nursing staff.
- Participate in the development and review of standards,
policies, and procedures.
- Advocate for patients, collaborating with them and their
carers in their care delivery.
- Engage in discharge planning and educate patients and their
families for ongoing care.

Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers
the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is
located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers
770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health
Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in
Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in
Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally
rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out
across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an
Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total
population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as
Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per
