The Role

Applications are invited for the position of Principal People and Culture Business Partner.

Reporting to the People and Culture Business Partnering Manager, the role is responsible for delivering high quality, practical people solutions. You will be a trusted advisor who can balance day to day operational needs with forward looking workforce initiatives. Your work will strengthen workforce capability through effective workforce planning, contemporary policy development and the careful handling of sensitive people matters.

The position plays a key role in shaping and operationalising people strategies across the organisation and empowers and builds capability of leaders in developing practical, evidence-based solutions to manage workforce risks.

The Person

You bring strong capability in providing strategic people and culture advice within a complex organisation. You are confident influencing stakeholders at all levels and enjoy coordinating initiatives that deliver meaningful workforce outcomes. You are agile, organised and solutions focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead cross functional initiatives effectively.

You will be a strategic people and culture professional with capabilities covering full range of business partner functions including attraction and retention, workforce planning and performance and conduct in a complex organisational environment.

The Insurance Commission is a State owned Government Trading Enterprise that provides motor injury insurance to 2.7 million Western Australian motorists and manages the self-insurance arrangements of the Western Australian Government.

The Insurance Commission generated $1.4 billion in revenue over six months to 31 December 2025 and holds nearly $9.7 billion in assets, making it a major self-funded statutory authority.
