About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the the Corporate Strategy and Performance Directorate. The Finance and Procurement Services team is a small, enthusiastic team that works in partnership with business areas to drive solutions and initiatives that ensure DTF operates in a manner that is efficient and sustainable, whilst achieving the agency’s objectives. This includes:
- the preparation of financial information to facilitate and discharge statutory reporting obligations including Budget Papers and Financial Statements;
- the provision of advice on the effectiveness of financial, budget management and financial controls in meeting the requirements of the agency;
- provision of guidance on financial and governance risks to the agency’s current and projected services; and
- the provision of oversight, advice and support of the DTF’s procurement function.
The opportunity
Are you a detail‑oriented team player who enjoys solving problems? We are seeking a solution‑focused Officer to join our finance team and support quality financial outcomes for Western Australia.
We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
- Accurately and promptly process supplier payments and raise customer invoices in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure a high level of attention to detail when managing financial transactions.
- Effectively prioritise tasks and manage time to meet deadlines whilst demonstrating a high level of team work.
- Contribute to the delivery of reliable, high‑quality financial services within a collaborative team environment.
We currently have two (2) permanent full-time positions available for filling within the Finance and Procurement Services Branch.
