About Corporate Services

The Corporate Services team includes human resources, procurement, payroll, business operations and digital and technology services. It helps the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport to reach its mission to enable dynamic and inclusive communities and support the WA economy through effective regulation and the facilitation of outstanding sporting and cultural experiences and opportunities. 

About the role

We are looking for a strategic and solutions‑focused Principal Procurement Officer to lead a team of people to planning, management and delivery of complex procurement activities. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership capability and extensive experience developing and managing high‑value procurement processes and contracts.

In this role you will:

  • Provide specialist advice and strategic support for the development, administration and governance of procurement and contracting activities for CITS and the Western Australian Tourism Commission.
  • Provide leadership including managing staff activities, recruitment and professional development to enhance individual contributions and team effectiveness.
  • Provide specialist procurement governance advice to maintain frameworks, policies, and processes that ensure Agency and whole‑of‑government compliance.
  • Analyses and prepares procurement and contract management performance reports, ensuring compliance with procurement, purchasing, contract administration and records management policies.

Successful candidate must possess:

  • Strong knowledge of government procurement frameworks, policies and compliance requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence and provide high‑level procurement advice.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, work strategically and deliver outcomes in a complex, fast‑paced environment.

 We have one permanent, full time (75hrs p/f) position available.
