This is a permanent full-time appointment. 

We are seeking inspiring individuals to join NR TAFE  as a Principal Lecturer. Whilst the position is located at our Pundulmurra Campus in South Hedland, flexibility to be based at our other NR TAFE campuses can be negotiated. However, regular travel to our other campuses across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions is required. 

The Principal Lecturer is a teaching position and is expected to provide college or system wide educational leadership in his/her area of expertise. The Principal Lecturer has industrial leadership responsibilities, which relate directly to the education process, including curriculum, teaching initiatives and industry liaison. 

During the performance of their normal lecturing role, a Principal Lecturer would focus upon leadership and qualitative improvement in educational processes and programs, across several industry areas. A Principal Lecturer would be expected to have outstanding skills and qualities in education delivery with a focus on quality teaching and learning.

This position will be delivering industry qualifications based on the successful applicant's background.

Relevant Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for employment, you must have:

  1. Meet the minimum essential selection criteria listed in the attached Job Description Form, including but not limited to:
    • at least five years teaching experience
    • the ability to demonstrate educational leadership in the development and implementation of curriculum across program areas.
  2. Have a Higher Teaching qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate Dip, Masters) – STERC maintains an Approved Qualifications list – current list updated in Feb 2023 (please see attachment to confirm)
  3. Have a Vocational qualification
  4. Have any required license or registration necessary to perform the position

If you have experience delivering relevant and engaging training in a classroom and workplace settings to a diverse range of students, sound verbal and written communication skills, good administration skills including using Microsoft Office products and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team we want to hear from you!
