Position
Profile
The
Child and Adolescent Health Service are seeking an
experienced and compassionate Senior
Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Palliative
Care and Children’s Hospice Service. This is a unique
opportunity to deliver specialised care that supports the
comfort, quality of life, and dignity of children and their
families.
In this
rewarding role, you will work as part of a
multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver advanced
physiotherapy services to children with complex and
life-limiting conditions, including respiratory,
neurological, and musculoskeletal care.
This
role includes coordinating and delivering hydrotherapy
services within the Children’s Hospice.
You
will collaborate closely with patients, families, and
multidisciplinary teams and provide expert clinical advice
and consultation across the service and broader health
system to ensure coordinated, compassionate
care.
Key
responsibilities include:
- Delivering and
coordinating advanced physiotherapy assessment,
intervention, and evaluation for paediatric palliative care
patients.
- Managing and
prioritising a complex caseload, including participation in
case conferences and care planning
- Supporting children
and families through holistic, family-centred care
approaches, focused on maintaining routines that help
children feel secure and cared for and supporting children
to engage in normal, meaningful activities such as play,
and time with siblings
- Contributing to
quality, safety, and service development
initiatives
- Providing clinical
leadership, supervision, and support to physiotherapists,
therapy assistants, and students
- Providing education
to parents and carers during their child’s care journey and
supporting discharge planning and continuity of care
through education and referral pathways.

are a skilled physiotherapist with advanced clinical
experience in paediatric physiotherapy, particularly in
respiratory, neurological, and/or musculoskeletal care, we

Experience in
paediatric palliative care and/or disability settings is
highly regarded.
A
Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and eligibility for
registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia are
required for this role.
About the Sandcastles (Boodja
Mia) Children’s Hospice:
Due to
commence operations mid 2026, this purpose-built,
world-class paediatric hospice, located on the stunning
Western Australian coast, offers statewide specialist
paediatric palliative care services for children and young
people (0–18 years) who are living with life-limiting or
life-threatening conditions, and their families.
This
state-of-the-art, 7-bed facility will be the first of its
kind in Western Australia, providing specialised palliative
care for children living with life limiting conditions aged
from birth to 18 years within a peaceful, home-like setting
that prioritises comfort, dignity and connection.
