About The Role

This is a senior specialist role within the Corporate Information branch, responsible for leading and managing the PTA’s privacy program in line with the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 and other relevant legislation. Reporting to the Manager Information Governance and Business Engagement, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing authoritative advice and practical solutions across a complex operational environment.

A strong focus of the role is proactive engagement with business areas through advice, training, policy development, and privacy impact assessments to embed best practice and support informed decision making.

You will monitor emerging trends in privacy, information governance, and legislative reform, translating these into clear recommendations for management and executives. By collaborating closely with stakeholders across the PTA, you will drive a consistent and accountable approach to privacy that supports service delivery, risk management, and community confidence in how information is handled.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Bring substantial experience in privacy, information governance, or a related discipline, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience in a large or regulated organisation.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of privacy principles, confidentiality, information governance frameworks, and the legislative and compliance environment applicable to government held information.
  • Have proven experience interpreting and applying legislation in operational contexts, including managing privacy complaints, information breaches, privacy impact assessments, and responsible information sharing arrangements.
  • Be a confident subject matter expert with the ability to influence, guide, and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and regulatory bodies.
  • Possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing clear advice, briefings, reports, training materials, and policy documentation.
