Position
Profile:
The WACHS TeleChemotherapy
service enables patients to receive systemic anti-cancer treatment
(SACT) closer to home, administered by local nursing staff and
supported by specialist clinicians through telehealth and virtual
clinical support. The role operates from a central hub and works
closely with site-based nursing teams, medical oncology and
haematology consultants, pharmacy and multidisciplinary
stakeholders, ensuring care is delivered in accordance with robust
clinical governance, safety and quality standards.
The Clinical Nurse (CN) –
TeleChemotherapy provides specialist cancer nursing expertise to
support the safe delivery of SACT across regional, rural and remote
WACHS sites via the WACHS TeleChemotherapy service
model.
Key Skills and
Attributes
The successful applicant will
have demonstrated experience in:
1. Providing specialist cancer
nursing advice and clinical decision support to regional and remote
sites delivering SACT under TeleChemotherapy
arrangements.
2. Supporting and guiding
site-based nursing staff with:
- Pre-treatment patient
assessment and readiness for SACT
- Recognition and
management of SACT related toxicities and acute cancer
presentations
- Escalation and
coordination of clinical risk and adverse events
3. Working autonomously with
advanced clinical judgement in complex clinical situations.
4. Communicating effectively in a virtual and telehealth
environment, providing clear and timely clinical advice.
5. Working collaboratively with site-based staff across rural and
remote treatment units.
6. Managing competing clinical priorities across multiple
sites.
7. Using digital systems and telehealth platforms to support safe,
effective virtual models of care.
Eligibility to
Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants
must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be
an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live
and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).

Whilst this selection process
will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be
used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health
service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant
decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most

these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from
when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment
decision.
