Generating $1.4b in revenue over the six months to 31 December 2025 and holding nearly $9.7b in assets, ICWA is a major self-funded statutory authority at the heart of the WA community.

Committed to a high-performance corporate culture and a workforce that reflects the diversity of its customers, ICWA’s commitment to continuous improvement is driving a substantial 5-year transformation - scaling its workforce, modernising its operating model, and embedding a client-centric culture.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an AI Innovation Engineer to join our new Enterprise Data Office (EDO). The newly established EDO will govern enterprise data, deliver trusted insights and enable responsible AI so decisions are faster, safer and based on a single source of truth.

The AI Innovation Engineer is a technical specialist responsible for designing, developing, and delivering artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that support enterprise transformation objectives.

The role undertakes hands on development, experimentation, implementation, deployment and maintenance on approved AI use cases including traditional Machine Learning and cutting edge Agentic AI enabling AI deployment at scale across the enterprise, implements components of the enterprise AI delivery framework and establishes MLOps capability in the Insurance Commission, and ensures all AI solutions comply with governance, risk, privacy, and ethical requirements. It also translates business needs into working prototypes and production‑ready assets. By building high‑quality, reusable and scalable AI components, the role accelerates AI‑enabled capacity creation, reduces cycle time, and contributes to uplift in organisational capability.
