The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative support to the Director Business Transformation and the Driver and Vehicle Services Directorate.

In this role you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative, business, and financial support task that will keep the Directorate running smoothly. Your work will include researching and analysing information, responding to enquiries, maintaining accurate office systems, and coordinating meetings, agendas and minutes. You will also manage financial processes such as reconciliations, accounts and reporting, and oversee the flow of Ministerial correspondence, tracking and advising on responses to Ministerials, Parliamentary Questions, briefing notes and other key documents, ensuring deadlines are met and information is accurate.

There is currently 1 permanent position available for immediate filling.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months from date of first appointment across the Department of Transport.

  • Proven experience providing reliable administrative, business or financial support in a fast paced or complex environment.
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to research and interpret information to be able to contribute to well-informed decision making.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
