We are seeking a motivated and experienced Human Resource Consultant to join East Metropolitan Health Service’s Human Resources Team.

We currently have a Fixed Term Full appointment until 31 December 2026 (with the possibility of extension and/ or permanency)

About the role: Our HR Consultants provide a client‑focused human resources consultancy service to a designated portfolio. Working closely with senior HR colleagues and operational leaders, the role delivers practical, compliant advice across the employee lifecycle, supporting managers to effectively manage people and workforce matters in line with legislation, industrial frameworks and organisational priorities.

The role has a strong focus on employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary and performance management matters, change and redeployment processes, and recruitment support.

About you: To succeed you will bring substantial experience delivering end‑to‑end human resource consultancy services within a complex organisation. You will have sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices, with the ability to apply legislation, industrial instruments, and policies to provide practical, risk‑aware advice to managers and leaders.

Strong communication and relationship‑building skills are essential, enabling you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and manage sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion. You will demonstrate well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and support continuous improvement in HR service delivery
