About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and driven safety leader to join our Mid-West Gascoyne regional team as our new Safety Manager - Regional based in Geraldton.
In this pivotal role, you will not only lead and manage your direct team but also play a key part in guiding and influencing the wider regional workforce to prioritise safety, health, and wellbeing. Your leadership will foster a culture of care and accountability while driving innovative and practical improvements to our safety processes and practices.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to advance or commence their career in a role within the State Government. About You
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Have experience managing all aspects of work health, safety, and wellbeing in a large organisation with a multidisciplinary workforce, in line with Work Health and Safety legislative requirements.
- Be skilled in providing leadership to improve workplace safety culture, processes, and practices, while reporting on regional safety performance.
- Be a proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
This role requires flexibility to travel and spend overnight stays to engage with the wider team, sometimes at short notice, including occasional weekend work to conduct investigations.

We offer an attractive salary, commuted overtime, district allowance and 12% superannuation. You have the choice to work a 37.5 or 40-hour week, and the option to work an extra 2.5 hours commuted overtime weekly.

- Managing all aspects of work health, safety and wellbeing in an organisation’s regional location with “white” and “blue” collar workforce.
- Building and managing a culture of work health and safety in a workplace that follows an organisation’s WHS standards and legislative requirements.
- Managing employee behaviour, performance and development.
