North Metropolitan Regional Education Office are seeking to establish a pool of Research and Executive Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of May 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The North Metropolitan Education Region supports the Department’s priorities in Western Australia and commits to delivering, through schools and services, a full and engaging standard of public education supportive of students, teachers and parents.

The North Metropolitan Education Region comprises more than 250 public schools across the north metropolitan area from Cottesloe to Lancelin and east to Wooroloo.

The Role

Research and Executive Support Officers will provide administrative support to the Director of Education and Assistant Directors of Education, including coordination and preparation of correspondence, travel and accommodation arrangements, scheduling of appointments and coordination of meetings. Suitable applicants will liaise with internal and external clients including, Ministerial Services Unit (MSU), school and Regional Office staff, senior staff of other agencies, parents and members of the public on a diverse range of issues.

Within this role, suitable applicants will conduct research and investigations, including background on school issues and review of relevant newspaper and media statements for issues of interest and importance. Research and Executive Support Officers will manage confidential and sensitive enquiries that require appropriate referral and a timely response. Suitable applicants will have the ability to assess priority, refer matters and follow up with relevant staff on behalf of the Director of Education and Assistant Directors to ensure Regional Office operations are efficient and responses are coordinated in a timely manner.
