This vacancy is for a permanent full time appointment 

Position Profile: The Medical Workforce Manager provides high level strategic and expert advice and strategic and operational leadership to the Executive Director Medical Services and executive and clinical staff across WACHS on medical workforce matters relating to salaried and non-salaried resources including policy and reform. The position plays a key role in the development and delivery of the WACHS medical workforce strategy to drive effective and efficient workforce outcomes that are aligned with the WACHS strategic priorities and operational needs to ensure that WACHS current and future operational requirements are met. The Medical Workforce Manager provides effective leadership in the areas of workforce planning and development, human resources strategy, recruitment, and retention, contracting and credentialling and organisational change for WACHS medical workforce that enhances WACHS’s capacity to deliver a sustainable workforce and promotes WACHS as an employer of choice.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

The Clinical Excellence and Medical Services directorate provides strategic leadership and oversight for Western Australian Country Health Service (WACHS) in the areas of patient safety and clinical quality, clinical leadership, medical workforce, medical education, and medico-legal matters and contributes to decision making on WACHS wide issues. The Directorate works collaboratively with the WACHS Executive and staff to deliver patient centred, high quality, value-based health services to WA’s regional and remote population.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
