ICT HR Systems are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Systems Officer HR for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of April, 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Integration, Build and Deployment Directorate within Education Business Services (EBS) plays a critical role in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable ICT solutions that support Western Australian public schools and the Department’s broader operations. The branch is responsible for key functions including security implementation, solutions architecture, development and maintenance, testing and assurance, and data management. Its core purpose is to design, build, integrate, and maintain systems and applications that effectively meet organisational needs while supporting educational outcomes across more than 800 schools.

Aligned with EBS service delivery principles, the Directorate operates in a responsive, flexible, transparent, accountable, and collaborative manner. It ensures that ICT systems are robust, well-integrated, and adaptable to the diverse needs of schools and stakeholders, enabling institutions to remain locally responsive while benefiting from a unified system. Through continuous improvement of its technical capabilities, processes, and partnerships, the branch contributes to high-quality, future-focused education service delivery.

The Role

The Specialist Services branch within Education Business Services (EBS) is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS). The branch ensures the system is secure, reliable, and aligned with evolving business, policy, and legislative requirements by managing system configuration, environments, and change processes. It plays a key role in maintaining system performance, resolving technical issues in collaboration with internal and external providers, and identifying opportunities for system and process enhancements to support efficient HR operations across the Department.

The role contributes to these outcomes by supporting the ongoing maintenance, configuration, and enhancement of HRMIS, including diagnosing and resolving system issues, implementing fixes and upgrades, and assisting in the analysis of business requirements. It also provides second-level user support through troubleshooting, reporting, training, and user guidance, ensuring effective system use and a high standard of customer service. In addition, the role supports branch objectives by contributing to change initiatives, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and fostering a collaborative, safe, and inclusive work environment.
