Relocation supports available to Interstate and New Zealand applicants.

There are two permanent, full time vacancies. One in Midwest and one in Goldfields.

AND

There is a fixed term, part time (15 hour per fortnight) vacancy available in Midwest, with the possibility of extension, subject to business requirements.

About the role

The Team Leader (Adult Community Corrections) reports to the Manager Adult Community Corrections and oversees a team that manages offenders on community orders, including high risk offenders to expected standards to ensure security of offenders and safety in the community; and provide advice to courts and releasing authorities.

We are looking for a committed leader to guide, support and develop the Team, by imparting good leadership skills and solid management practices.  Here is your chance to make a difference not only to the lives of the individuals, their families, and the wider community we are involved with but the case managers and leaders of our future.

The successful applicant will:

  • Maintain focus on the Department’s goals concerning safety, security and rehabilitation.
  • Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions.
  • Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity.
  • Operate within the chain of command to coordinate activities required to meet the Department’s strategic objectives.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate.
  • Facilitate cultural and management reforms within the Department through leadership and engagement; and
  • Represent the Department’s interest on committees and working groups as required.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Travel will be required to be undertaken including overnight stays so there is a requirement for every Team Leader to drive vehicles (including 4WD) with manual transmissions and as such a current manual driver’s licence (class C) must be held when working across the state. There may also a requirement to travel via airplane including light aircraft.
