About the role

The Manager Quasi-Judicial Services is responsible for presiding over and managing the quasi-judicial services that support the Magistrates Court at Perth which include:

  • Pre-Trial Conferences and mediations.
  • Applications pursuant to the Civil Judgments Enforcement Act 2004 and the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 both in Court and ex-parte.
  • Applications pursuant to theMagistrates Court (Civil Proceedings) Act 2004 and associated rules.
  • Taxation and assessment of costs
  • Objections to jurisdictions.

The Manager of Quasi Judicial Services is also responsible for providing a specialist support service to staff to increase their  knowledge, skills and abilities.

The role is suited to those that have experience managing teams and knowledge of and experience in court practices and procedures with the ability to interpret and apply legislation.

Eligibility

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
