This is a
recruitment process for Permanent and Fixed Term appointments at
various hours per fortnight, with the possibility extension(s)
and/or permanency.
We are
seeking experienced Senior Social Workers to join our dynamic
team within Older Adult Mental
Health.
We currently
have THREE positions: ONE Full Time and TWO Part Time at 45.6 hours
per fortnight.
Inpatient Older
Adult (1.0 FTE): Newly developed and designed contemporary
older adult mental health inpatient unit specifically for those
with neurological and behavioural issues. Opens 18th
August 2026.
Older Adult Hospital
in the Home (0.6 FTE): As part of this team, you will play
a key role in delivering acute and subacute care to consumers in
the comfort of their home, supporting clinical pathways that mirror
inpatient care.
Supported Transition
and In Reach (STAIR, 0.6 FTE): Newly established team
providing in reach to Residential Aged Care services to provide
specialist support and prevent admission to hospital.
Successful applicants across
these teams will be responsible for planning, implementing,
coordinating and evaluating time limited Social Work services to
consumers and families/significant others in the specialty area of
Older Adult Mental Health, using advanced Social Work clinical
practice from a recovery orientated, trauma informed and positive
aging perspective. Senior Social Workers evaluate consumer safety
and quality of care, supervise Social Work staff, students and
support staff in the unit/clinical area, as well as coordinate
duties and manage performance.

- Demonstrated extensive
relevant clinical experience and knowledge and advanced skills
in appropriate assessment, treatment and evaluation within the
Social Work specialty area of Older Adult Mental
Health.
- Demonstrated ability to
plan, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate Social Work
services including application of quality improvement
principles and practices.
- Demonstrated high level
time management, administrative and organisational skills when
planning, providing and monitoring Social Work
services.
- Demonstrated ability to
work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
setting.
- Current knowledge of
legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability
Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on
employment and service delivery.

Are you
eligible? To be eligible for appointment, applicants must
have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an
Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and
work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent
appointments).

most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment
decision.
