About the role
Court Counselling and Support Services is a directorate within Court and Tribunal Services Division with the responsibility to provide specialised court support services to child witnesses, family violence victims and victims of crime. The Family Violence Service supports victims of family violence within the Magistrate court system.
The Court Counselling and Support Services directorate is seeking a suitably qualified professional to join the leadership team as a Team Manager, Family Violence Service. The Team Manager supports the Executive Director Court Counselling and Support Services in the leadership and management of the Directorate; and provides the strategic direction and leadership for, and management of, the Family Violence Service.
The Team Manger position leads and manages the day to day operational management and administration of the Family Violence Service, develops Service Business Plans and ensures collaborative strategies across the Service. The Team Manager is responsible for providing support and professional supervision to team members, and ensuring high‑quality, efficient service delivery. The role responds to referrals and enquiries and provides expert consultation and liaison with the judiciary and key stakeholders on family violence matters.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
Successful applicants must possess:
A relevant tertiary Qualification in Social Work with eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Or
An approved four (4) year degree in Psychology with eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

- Provide a comprehensive Resume, that clearly outlines your transferable skills, experience and highlights your key achievements.

- Experience in leading and managing a service delivery team in a counselling and/or support services context.
- High level knowledge and skills in undertaking risk assessments, risk management, developing client plans and providing support and intervention.
- Proven capacity to operate strategically, plan and achieve outcomes.
- Highly developed and demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in working with people affected by family violence and trauma, and knowledge of the dynamics of family violence victims.
- A copy of your relevant tertiary Qualification(s) as set out in the above Eligibility section.
- Contact details of two (2) recent work referees, with one (1) of them being your current Line Manager where possible.
