Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile: The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at RPH is a 50‑bedded, high‑turnover and high‑acuity unit. The core function of the AMU is the rapid assessment, treatment, and management of acutely unwell, undifferentiated medical patients, while facilitating timely and efficient patient flow from the Emergency Department (ED).

We are seeking motivated and skilled applicants to join the AMU multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will provide high‑quality clinical and professional nursing expertise to support safe, efficient, and evidence‑based care delivery within a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will actively promote patient and staff safety through proactive leadership, role modelling EMHS values, high level communication skills and supporting a positive safety culture. The Clinical Nurse will practice within their scope of practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart, contributing to clinical governance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.
