Position Profile: We are
seeking friendly, passionate and experienced Paediatricians to join
our Community Health Team.
In the position, Consultant -
Paediatrician - Community Child Health, you will provide
a high standard of community-based specialist paediatric
developmental and medical assessment services to clients of
community health as part of the Child Development
Service.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide a clinical
developmental and medical assessment and management service for
children referred to the Child Development Service, at various
sites, utilising an advanced level of clinical
practice.
- Participate as an active
member of multi-disciplinary teams involving Clinical Nurse
Specialists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers,
Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists,
Audiologists and others in providing a comprehensive
developmental service. This includes consulting with team
members and others and multidisciplinary team assessments as
required, so as to provide optimal client care.
- Provide consultation and
advice to other professionals in regard to all areas of
clinical speciality.
- Participate and assist in
the continued medical educational activities and supervision of
medical students, doctors in training and other health workers
as appropriate.
These services are provided in the community
across the Perth metropolitan area.

Service (CAHS) is proud to be the leading service
provider for paediatric healthcare in Western Australia, as the
State’s only dedicated health service for infants, children and
young people. CAHS is made up four service areas: Neonatology,
Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
(CAMHS), and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). Consisting of over
6,500 employees, our services are delivered at PCH and King Edward
Memorial Hospital (KEMH), as well as across a network of more than
160 community clinics across the metropolitan area.
