This includes managing traffic flow, ensuring road safety, and supporting infrastructure projects to improve transport efficiency. 

 

About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Maintenance Coordinator to support the effective delivery of road maintenance activities across the region. In this role, you will coordinate routine, periodic, and specific maintenance programs, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with the Maintenance Management Plan and available funding. You will play a key part in scheduling works, managing procurement, monitoring performance, and ensuring the accuracy of maintenance data. Your technical expertise will support supervisors, site personnel, and external partners, while your leadership will help guide employee performance and development. This is a role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, values continuous improvement, and thrives in a collaborative environment focused on maintaining and enhancing the regional road network. Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the delivery, scheduling, and resourcing of routine, periodic, and specific maintenance programs in line with the MMP and available funding
  • Manage budgets, expenditure, and procurement of plant, operators, and materials to support efficient maintenance operations
  • Monitor network performance, review maintenance activities, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of MMIS data
  • Identify and support improvements to road construction and maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and achieve project targets
  • Apply risk management principles across all maintenance planning and delivery
  • Lead and develop employees, supporting performance, behaviour, and capability growth
  • Build strong relationships with local governments and subcontractors to strengthen regional capability

 

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience coordinating road maintenance programs, including scheduling of works, budgeting for projects, and resource planning of road maintenance crews  
  • Strong technical knowledge of road construction and maintenance practices
  • Confidence providing specialist advice to supervisors, site personnel, and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor performance and ensure data accuracy
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles and their application in maintenance delivery
  • Effective leadership skills, with experience managing employee performance and development
  • Willingness to work away from home when required
