About the Role

In this senior leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in strengthening the cyber resilience of one of Western Australia’s most essential public organisations. You will lead the identification, analysis, prioritisation and management of cyber risks. Implementing policy, strategy, processes, and technologies that safeguard our systems and ensure continuity of service.

You will oversee the development and governance of our cyber security strategy, including controls assurance, audit programs, and a comprehensive Cyber security accreditation framework. Your expertise will guide the creation and enforcement of ICT security policies, standards, and procedures that align with organisational strategy.

 

A bit more about you:

  • You are an analytical and solutions‑focused professional who has exceptional data analysis skills, can identify and prioritise cyber security risk, collaboratively design effective controls, and deliver improvements across all facets of the ICT environment including networks, operating systems, databases, and web environments. You will also lead our cyber security incident response capability, ensuring preparedness and coordinated action coupled with senior stakeholder communication and management.
  • You are a capable, people‑centred leader who manages resources effectively, supports staff development, and fosters a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement. You will work confidently with internal teams, external partners, government agencies, and industry bodies, representing Main Roads in key forums.
  • You bring a strategic mindset, staying ahead of emerging threats through research, trend analysis, and informed recommendations. You will also contribute to broader policy and strategy development across the branch.
