This is a Fixed Term Part
Time appointment at 64 hours per fortnight for one year, with the
possibility of extension(s) up to a maximum of two
years.
Position
Profile: The Nurse Practitioner Candidate Vascular
Access (NPC) will work under the direct or indirect supervision of
an established Nurse Practitioner. The NPC will be clinically and
professionally supported to undertake approved Nursing and
Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) study leading to Nurse
Practitioner endorsement. The candidacy program will meet the
clinical skills and competency requirements of the academic program
and comes with clinical and professional supervision and skills
acquisition support, and nurse leadership mentoring.
The NPC – Vascular Access
will work part of the multidisciplinary team providing a vascular
access service that is responsible for the insertion, management
and removal of central venous access device (CVAD), including
maintaining CVAD governance and infection prevention and control
standards. The NPC will work alongside the CVAD Clinical Nurse
Specialists and Clinical Nurse.
